Mwamini Ali
She is Mwamini Ali, she is 4 years old. She was born with a disability ( Cerebral palsy) and later she started to suffer from Epilepsy. She was born in Bugarama village in Muleba District. Her parents are poor peasants who cultivate food crops for the family. In the family only Mwamini has a disability, other children have no disabilities. Mwamini can't sit down without assistance, she can't talk, she gives meaningless sounds, but she can show her smile when she is happy. Mwamini is able to see well and hear well. She is able to understand her mother and siblings. Parents and siblings love her so much.
CBR made that special chair for her and we trained parents and siblings how to use it. Now Mwamini has started to sit well on that chair. Parents and siblings were very happy to receive the chair. We also started to support her epileptic medications and special nutrition. Now she has good improvement. She is not under weight as it was before. We taught her mother how to feed and good positioning her child well when feeding her. Now food are not coming out when the mother is feeding her.
This was the first time to sit on the special chair. Mwamini didn't cry. In this video you can see the parents of Mwamini. Before this chair Mwamini used to stay in a laying down.
